  MTBE is a high octane gasoline component with a base octane rating of ron:115,mon:100, which is excellent for gasoline with high octane additive and anti explosive agent. MTBE and gasoline can be dissolved in any proportion without delamination, and when the gasoline components are reconciled, there is a good harmonic effect and the harmonic octane number is higher than its net octane number. MTBE has relatively high oxygen content, which can significantly improve the exhaust emissions of automobiles. However, if the proportion of MTBE is not controlled, so that the theoretical equivalent air-fuel ratio exceeds the control range of the adaptive ability of the electronic control unit of the closed-loop engine, it will interfere with the closed-loop control because of oxygen enrichment, and the conversion efficiency of the ternary catalytic converter is decreased.
